Swaying palm trees. White sand beaches. Warm banana bread. Juicy pineapples. The chillest of vibes. Maui, Hawaii is a dream destination, and although we’ve been living in the San Francisco Bay Area for almost 10 years – where a trip to Hawaii is a feasible weekend trip – we’d yet to visit until this summer! All I can say is … what the heck is wrong with us?! We’ve WASTED the last 10 years of my life not visiting Maui every chance we can get! Although we only had 3 days to spend in Maui, we fell head over heels. Our Maui itinerary is the perfect way to spend 3 days in Maui, from snorkeling to the Road to Hana to a luau to eating as much shave ice and banana bread as the human body can physically stand. What are you waiting for? Shaka, brah!
Some people are born to be on the beach. They return from their beach vacation with sun-kissed skin, positively glowing with beachy bliss. I envy those people. While they’re happily soaking up the sun, I’m busy being burned to a crisp, inhaling mouthfuls of sand, swallowing salt water, and trying to get sand un-stuck from places that sand should never, ever be. And it doesn’t help that shopping for swimsuits as a size 16, almost 6-foot tall Amazonian woman is an exercise in torture and frustration. So you can rest assured that every single item on this beach vacation packing list has been thoroughly vetted to the HIGHEST possible standards. I have absolutely no patience for anything that causes chafing, leaves a weird greasy residue, or leaves me feeling hot, sweaty, and uncomfortable. This ultimate curvy girl’s beach vacation packing list is the practical, body positive packing guide you need to hit the beach this summer!

Before our trip to Bali this past July, we wondered: Is it actually possible to visit Bali on a budget? Cayucos, California is a tiny coastal town located in California’s Central Coast, right next to Jeremy’s hometown on the Pacific Coast Highway. Cayucos feels sort of like you’ve stepped back in time to the Old West, except on the beach: it’s small-town Americana, often described as the last of the historic California beach towns. There are saloons and American flags and antique shops selling exquisite marine-themed crafts and the air is thick with salt, coastal fog, and the scent of the ocean. If Gilmore Girls had been filmed in California, it could have been filmed here. Here’s 12 charming things to do in Cayucos, California!
